I have always wanted a best friend with whom I could speak to daily. However, I always found that any friendship I made lasted only for a short while and then they stayed away and I would only see them rarely.

I was out of town for a week long function and there was no one of my age group to talk to. I had taken The Secret book with me. I opened the book one morning and wished that I could meet someone at the function who had read The Secret and would become my best friend.

That afternoon I met a girl called Shruti. I had met her earlier at the same place three years ago and we had hung together at that time. I am a people person and hug almost everyone I know. I thus had an inner urge and so I hugged her and she responded happily in kind. From that moment onward we were together throughout the function.

Once when we were talking about self-help books she said that she had read only one book in her life so far. Can you imagine my shock when she said that the book was The Secret!!! It was such a jaw dropping moment.

I was thrilled and ecstatic. We discussed all the things in the book. She did not have a copy with her and so I happily lent her mine for a few days.

She fell ill and so I brought her breakfast every day and stayed by her bedside whenever I could. Luckily she recovered quickly and we became best friends. In fact, on our return journey as I got into the vehicle, we had an emotional moment and she rushed to hug me.

We live in different cities but we stay in touch anyway.
