The Road Less Travelled By

IndiaI am a 17 year old who likes being independent. The Secret by far has been my greatest inspiration along with my parents. Thank you Rhonda, once again.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Rhonda for penning down The Secret to enjoying life.
I first came across the book when I was 14. The book was on sale for 650 rupees. I couldn’t afford to purchase the book. For the next two years my desire to buy the book vanished.
When I was 16 my dad transferred to a new city. Till my 10th grade, I studied on my own. I did not have the habit of taking tuition and I personally believed it was a waste of time as I was already learning the same stuff at school.
I got myself admitted to a Junior college in that city. The first few days went off well. Slowly it dawned on me that tuition was a must since attendance at college was almost nil and the teachers were also not serious while teaching. I simply did not like that idea as I had to attend classes separately in the evening and go to the college for practicals ( which apparently were compulsory ) in the morning. My life was almost stagnant and everyday was less exciting.
I was surfing on the net one day when I checked the price of The Secret on an online buying platform. The secret was for 400 rupees. I then decided to buy the book.
Reading the book brought a massive change in my life.
I understood the reason for my not liking the college, tuition and my life. It was because I did not have an aptitude for science. At that time I was doing my 11th and was almost on the verge of completing it. Then I took a decision, a decision that completely changed my life.
I shifted my interest to commerce. I always liked math, (even though during my middle school I occasionally did well in math), economics was also interesting. But in order to do that I needed to repeat 11th grade. Repeating an entire year is shameful as people who do not know you tag you as a failure. That was my biggest concern.
But as per The Secret, I visualized myself attending a new school, doing a year again, being with people a year or 6 months younger than me, and believe me, I never felt out of place there. No one teased me, no one, not even my closest friends made me feel as if my decision was wrong. Moreover my parents motivated me, did not care about what people would think and supported me in my decision.
Now, I love commerce. I do not mind taking tuition as I love what I learn. I have also set my target high. I want to score full in my 12th board. I have started working hard and The Secret gets me back on track if I ever go haywire.
My family’s financial condition strengthened to a great extent. I could purchase The Secret To Teen Power as well as The Magic.
I have just started practicing gratitude and I hope I get what I have always wished for.
Thank you, Thank you. Thank you mom, dad, Rhea (my sister), my friends and Rhonda for giving me courage to do something I never in my life thought I would be able to.
