While driving in my car to and from work, I listen to the CD. I always try to pick out something that I missed before, and try to focus on something new, something inspiring.
Last Thursday, I was focusing on the story of the man that pictured a feather with particular markings that he found on the entrance of a building in New York City. I then focused on a quarter. That quarter was my inspiration. I felt the quarter, pictured its marking of the eagle in the back and focused on a particular quarter. My quarter was dated 1973. Now, I have no idea where that date of 1973 came from or why I chose 1973, but it was very clear. I haven’t even seen a 30 year old quarter for quite some time. This quarter was burned into my mind, I could not focus on anything else. I pictured this quarter in every detail. It was locked in my mind. I then went about my business and forgot about my inspiring thought.
A few days later, on Sunday afternoon, I was removing a pair of shorts out of the drier in the laundry. I then felt something fall out of the drier, bounce on the ground and hit me on the right foot. It was a quarter. I thought, I may have left something in my pockets so without even thinking about it, I looked at it and it was indeed dated 1973. I dropped to my knees, felt a tear welling up, and called my wife. Told her my story.
I now carry this quarter around with me all the time in my pocket. It is my “gratitude rock”.
