This is a story that is going to inspire more people who believe in The Secret. So today, I had an experience that confirmed to me that if you believe in the power of attraction you will get what you want.

I am a photojournalist by profession, and I had an assignment at our main airport. I was to cover the arrival of the Fifa World Cup Trophy into the country. When I started my journey to the airport it was all smooth. That was until I got stuck in an unusual traffic jam on a road that I use often. I was to get to the airport by 9 am at the latest for an event that was to take place at 11 am. I was stuck in traffic for more than 2 hours which means that at 11 am I was still held up in traffic. At this point in time, I had already given up on that assignment because the flight carrying the Fifa trophy was expected to arrive at 11 am which meant all the media people were supposed to be at the airport as early as 8.30 am in order to be cleared by the security office to access the airfield.

Here I was at 10.30 am still stuck in traffic and with no way of escaping it, and I was just a few minutes away from the airport. It happened that there had been an earlier accident at the only roundabout in that lane and it ended up blocking the main road and causing a huge traffic ‘snail up’. When I saw there was no way I could make it on time or even be allowed to join the rest of the team for that matter, I called the organizers and told them I couldn’t make it to cover the event since the arrival time of the flight was minutes away and I wasn’t even at the airport. They agreed that I couldn’t make it.

After that call, I accepted my fate and left it at that. Now I was thinking about how I was going to get back home. Of course, I was feeling bad about it but I told myself that it wasn’t my fault. While I was still stuck in traffic, I got a call from one of the security people at the airport who asked me why I had not been cleared and on their list of journalists who had been cleared to attend the event. I told him that I was still stuck in traffic but I was a few minutes away from the airport. To my surprise, he told me that I still had time because the flight I was going to be documenting got delayed and it was going to be arriving 2 hours later. He said that if I get to the airport, I can contact him and he will clear me. Almost immediately after he said this, the truck that had blocked the road was towed away and the road started clearing right up! That gave me an easy path to get to the airport fast. And just like that, I was able to get to the airport on time, get cleared, and join up with the rest of the team. We documented the event successfully.

In addition, I had been thinking of my old schoolmate. I had just random thoughts about him because we had not spoken for a while now. And guess what? I found his text message on Whatsapp, he was checking in on me! It is the true power of the force of the law of attraction. All these events that happened to me today proved to me that I can now be able to think of bigger things and the Universe will give them to me. Be inspired!
