The power of believe!
Submitted by: Prachi Shirish Khadke
Pune, IndiaLast semester, I was part of the organizing team for an event to raise money for disabled soldiers. I was trying to sell tickets. I went to a girls college called SNDT. I met the principal as I needed permission to sell tickets on the campus of this college.
As I was returning to the parking lot, I realized that I didn’t have my cell phone. I searched my bag. I went to every single location on the campus where I’d gone earlier, at least three times. Still, I couldn’t find it. I called my cell phone number from a public pay phone. It was ringing, but nobody picked it up. There were throngs of girls on the campus. Anybody could’ve had it. I returned home. And I said to myself, “Prachi, you have two choices – either blindly believe that you’re gonna get your cell phone back or blindly believe that you’re not gonna get it back.” I decided to go for the first option.
I blindly believed that I would get it back. I didn’t allow a single thought of doubt to enter my head. I took my dad’s cell phone and sent the following message to my cell phone number: “Whoever finds this cell phone, please call this number.” And guess what? At 9pm, a lady called up my dad on his cell phone. She said, she’d found the cell phone. She works in the administrative section of SNDT college. When she found the phone on a chair, she had kept it in her purse. She had been busy with her work the whole day and my cell phone had been on silent mode. That’s why when I had called my own number, she didn’t realize that I’d called. Later she showed it to her son, who read the message I’d sent via my dad’s cell phone and told his mother to call us up. Thus the very next morning I got my cell phone back. All thanks to The Secret!
