November 2007. My boyfriend had split up with me after six and a half months. I was in love, I was heartbroken. It was a most bizarre relationship. My parents are extremely homophobic. And my mother keeps trying to force me to get a girlfriend every once in a while. Hence, my relationship was a secret one (excuse the pun) from them. I was dragged in the past, and kept thinking to myself, what could have been? Instead of, what can be in my future?

I watched The Secret. I was inspired by some of the wondrous stories. And was particularly interested in the idea of a “Vision Board”. I decided, sure, why not? I’ll give it a go. I bought a notebook and filled it with my dreams. One of them being – “To get a beautiful boyfriend, who is smart, tall… ” Well, you get the idea! I visualised on the idea, every day.

Well… it only took 3 days. I got an instant messenger request, from a beautiful, tall(6 ft 2), and smart law student. We are now a couple, and he is brilliant. This has taught me positive affirmations can truly change the world. Never underestimate the power of the law of attraction.
