The first time I read The Secret it was 2008, and I had been struggling for years trying to find my ideal relationship. I had always thought that taking care of someone was all about “saving” them from their situation and romantically sweeping them off their feet like the fantasy stories of Shining Knights in Medieval times.

It was a recurrent problem that I seemed to constantly attract this same type of woman in my life that required my “saving” her from her current situation with past boyfriends, or financial troubles, or other such burdens. Every time, the relationship would inevitably end in dramatic fashion after it had exhausted all of my energy, because it left me so much taken advantage of. I had even without knowing it become convinced that this was my role in life to meet these kind of people and there was no other possibility.

After readingThe Secret, I was stunned to realize that all this time, my failure in relationships was completely due to my own attraction of these types of situations! Attraction of feelings of being used, taken advantage of, and feelings that ideal relationships were not possible and this is the best I would ever get!

I vowed to change my thinking overnight, and immediately began to design my ideal relationship. Each night I would envision how she looked, how she acted, and what her interests, goals, hopes and dreams were. I also changed my belief that finding someone like her was very real because she was definitely out there waiting for me to meet her!

Only one week later, I was at work and realized I forgot to sign off the computer two floors up as I was heading down to the cafeteria for lunch. I ran back upstairs to do so and sat down. I looked across at a nearby desk and realized I was looking at the person in my dreams! It was so specific that it had to be her! Later on I found out that she was just visiting the building that day and usually worked somewhere else. I knew at that moment that the Universe had set this all up on purpose!

After that day we got to talking, one thing led to another, and I am now happily married to her for a year and a half. She is the best thing that ever happened to me, and our relationship keeps getting better, stronger, and happier! What is even more amazing is that all this time in the past wishing for a fantasy fairy-tale relationship and romantically sweeping someone off their feet – I realized that she is exactly this too! And it didn’t drain any of my energy, or have me feel taken advantage of at all. Instead it was enjoyable, and instead of making me weaker it made my wife and I both stronger and stronger!

I am now working on using the same elements of the Law of Attraction to correct other areas of my life, in particular my job situation which has become a constant source of stress and misery. I am currently identifying the faults in my thinking that are causing this stress and misery, and I am confident that I can use the same law to attract what I want out of my career and I am excited about how it will manifest! I look forward to sharing this new story in the making with all of you in the future.
