I’m an Officer in the Indian Navy and had bought The Secret from a book store just out of curiosity.

I was preparing for a post graduation course when I started reading The Secret. My studies would always start with reading a few pages of the book. Slowly but surely I was able to understand how to shape the things around me.

The preparation was tough and somehow after starting to read the book, a feeling of confidence came over me that I just needed to do my bit and things would fall into place, and that’s exactly what happened. In the interview for the course I could have been asked just about anything, but I was asked what I knew. When the selection list came out it had my name on it and I knew without doubt what had made it happen.

But the true power of The Secret was revealed to me later, when I was supposed to pack my bags and leave for the course. The dates for my joining the course had been announced, but my boss was in no mood to let me off earlier. Every day a new problem arose that would make my chances of leaving on time more remote.

All through this, I kept reading the book. I was working on a project that required the approval of the C-in-C. I was informed that the trip of the C-in-C had been made out and he was arriving a week after my scheduled date of joining for the course.

I was heartbroken, but still somehow continued thinking that things will work out. As the days passed, the chances of me leaving on time started getting bleaker. Again, all through this I kept reading the book and reaffirmed myself that I would leave on time.

And then one fine day, only a week before I was to leave, the C-in-C’s Office called to inform us he was visiting us the next day and would review the project. I was astonished. This was impossible, and something that just couldn’t have happened. But then I knew the universe had moved things to facilitate my departure.

The next day, the C-in-C reviewed the project and was extremely happy with the way it was shaped. The visit resulted in my boss agreeing to let me go as per what I wanted.

It’s been a couple of months now but still when I look back at the events that took place I cannot help but remind myself about the EXTRAORDINARY powers that had been shown to me by The Secret.
