I first noticed that marvelous trophy a year ago, when I happened to walk into our Principal’s Office and saw her examining it for any defects. At that moment, time seemed to have stood still for me, as I was captivated by that beautifully sculpted, shiny, transparent glass trophy. I knew then, that I wanted it for myself. But it was an honour reserved only for the topper of the school. That didn’t bother me at all, because I knew that trophy was meant for me!

In the coming year, I studied well, and I enjoyed myself. Every night I’d listen to the radio and imagine all my dreams coming true. The weirdest thing is that every time they played some lovey-dovey, romantic track, I’d visualize myself, not with a guy…….. but, (you guessed it)with my favourite GLASS TROPHY!

On the day of the results I was totally chilled out, and I accepted my marks gratefully. But then, news started pouring in that I didn’t top the school, and that I had come third instead. But that didn’t bother me. I was confident as ever. I caught hold of my mother and said, “Mom, I know that my  trophy is coming home. I don’t care about anything else.”

A month goes by. One fine day, my mother tells me that she had received a call from my school teacher who said that I would be awarded a glass trophy at the felicitation this Saturday! I couldn’t believe my ears! Turns out, this year the school had decided to award trophies to not just one, but all THREE of the toppers.

A life-size photograph of me flashed on the screen and the crowd burst into cheers as I walked towards the stage to collect what was mine. I held in my hands, that same glass trophy that had captivated me a year ago. Only this time, it had MY name embossed on it. Today, any time I feel doubtful about how to manifest my desires, I simply look into the mirror with my trophy in my hands, and I’m instantly reassured that I CAN HAVE, DO OR BE ANYTHING THAT I WANT.
