The Dog Who Lived.
I would like to thank Rhonda Bryne for sending The Secret across the world. I am truly grateful to her and her team.
This story is about our family dog Summer. We got him when he was just 40 days old. I guess we were destined to have him.
In November 2014 he developed a disease called distemper. He would constantly shiver and get fits. I and my sisters who were looking after him at that time would watch him through nights suffering. The Vet told us that 99.9 % of the cases are fatal and we would lose him. Still, praying and using all the power we had, we used to look after him, caress him and tell him that he would get better.
In all those days we never left him alone. Putting all our energies in a positive direction we wished he would get better soon.
But that Saturday he had fits for almost 24 hours. We called the doctor and he said we would lose him in a day. Summer still survived the next day but we couldn’t see him like that. Losing all our hope we decided we couldn’t watch that baby bearing such pain anymore, so we took him to the doctor to get him mercy killed. I still remember the scene, Summer had not stood up for days. But when we put him on the doctors table he stood up.
Crying we decided we would take him back home. If he has to go, let him go the natural way.
We haven’t looked back since then.
Today summer is a 7 month old happy puppy!! Everyone loves him.
What I am trying to convey through this story is that love has the power to heal us. Despite the doctor telling us he wouldn’t survive, we continued our positive thinking that he would and used love to take care of him. We had our doubts but when we lost all hope Summer gave us the hope back. It was as if he was returning our love to us, by telling us I won’t leave you, I love you so much.
Just keep on believing and anything can happen.
