“That’s So Raven” was one my favorite Disney TV show when it used to air on the Disney Channel in India. I had always dreamt of acting in or  creating something like that, but there was no way that I could do so because I had no background in acting, drama or stage shows.

Many years passed and from a student phase I entered into a lecturer phase. I left my first job and later joined a second job in a very remote area as a biology lecturer. Had no clue that this place would provide me a perfect platform to experiment with my talent and keep it in front of the public. In India we celebrate Lord Ganesha’s birthday for ten days. It was during this festival that our school sponsored an inter house skit competition for students in the 12 to 15 year age group. This was the perfect opportunity for me to stage the show and I did it.

The preparations, the rehearsals, the script rewriting and the music arrangements. OMG! I could not believe I was doing all of it! The students that had participated in this drama were awesome. Finally the drama was performed and the applause and the appreciation was unimaginable. I could not believe that these 300 people were all applauding for my students and my work. Literally the President Sir of our Institute came and hugged me and complimented me in a way I had never experienced in my lifetime. Students were screaming my name. Everyone had gathered around me and even the students and teachers of opposite houses were excited to see something new happening at the institute. I literally thanked the Universe more than ever that day. It was a dream come true.
