I met the One at the worst possible time. I was going through a messy break-up, trying to finish my college finals, deal with the breakdown of my family and my sister’s eating disorder. He was the light of my life and helped me through the worst period of my life, but after 4 months, I was sent to Seattle to work for 3 months. He waited for me and when I came back it was like we’d never parted. Unfortunately I became hung up on my supposed issues and on his ‘friend’ who I knew liked him.
Eventually my constant doubt forced the inevitable to take place. He left me and 2 weeks later she was rubbing photos of them in my face. I was distraught, then my friend Claire told me about The Secret. I was hooked.
I now understood why everything had happened, and that the power to change everything was with me.
I got a notebook and wrote the date 1st November 2010. I stated what I wanted and started feeling happy and grateful for everything I had, including the break up as it made me realise how special we were. I did have bad days and moment of doubt, but quickly shifted my thinking.
The 1st rolled around and I sat by my phone expectantly but nothing happened. I gave up by the 3rd. We had been in contact sporadically as it upset us both. I texted him and thanked him for being there for me, but I couldn’t be friends with him as I wasn’t strong enough and wished him well.
He then called me, distraught, stating everything I had written in my notebook!!! He told me we both made mistakes but he was miserable without me and couldn’t lose me again. I’m so happy and grateful to have him back!!!
For all those out there in a similar situation, I know it may seem difficult but never give up!!! My situation seemed completely hopeless but if it worked for us, it will work for anybody!!!!
