Surprise!! It’s a BMW!
Submitted by: Emily
Carson City, NVI am a hard working woman, living in Nevada.
A couple of months ago I was journaling, which is something I do whenever I need to release a problem or ask for something I want. I am making outstanding money, and I work outside of the city in which I live. I was growing concerned for the health and maintenance of my Honda Civic. One of the tires had a long screw in it, and the tire needs to be replaced. Someone backed into my car in the parking lot and smashed up the front end. Basically, my car needs a little repair and replace work, but I love it, so I didn’t want to get rid of it. I knew it was unsafe to drive my Honda, so I wrote in my journal that I needed a new car. The stipulations were that I had to be able to pay for it and its insurance, and be able to keep my Honda as well.
I thought about The Secret and said to myself, “I can have what I want.” I wrote down that I wanted a BMW. I have my share of debt, but I knew if I really wanted a BMW, one would come my way! I focused on what it would feel like to drive a BMW, played it out like in the movie, even! I imagined the interior, what it would smell like, and how the engine would sound as I raced along the highway to work. I knew I would find that car and love it.
About three weeks later I was driving up Carson Street (our main drag) on my way to do some shopping, and something glinted at me. I looked toward the glint and saw a silver BMW Z3 convertible in one of the car lots. I said, “Oh, what a beautiful car!” And kept driving. Two days later I had to go up in the same direction and was thinking about that car the whole way up. I saw it on my way to the store and just wondered how much they wanted for it. On my way back, the car glinted at me again, and I took it as a sign that I should stop and look. Oh, what the heck? I could always walk away if they wanted outrageous money for it, right?
I parked behind it, got out, and walked around it to check it out, and the thing was perfect! The paint was immaculate. I was interested. I test drove it and thought about it and felt it was my car. The people who owned it before had just gotten rid of it in trade because they wanted a minivan. It had sat in their garage all 8 years of its life except for a few small rides around town.
I drove away with it for $17,000 U.S., and still have my Honda. The Z3 is a year 2000 and it only had 37,000 miles on it when I bought it. The BMW is cheap to insure since its got fantastic crash test ratings! It costs me only ten dollars a month more to have the second car on my insurance, and the car payment I make is well within my means. People tell me all the time that it looks brand new!
It’s like the Universe said, “Tah Dah!! Here’s your car, kiddo!”
Thanks for the wonderful movie! I watch it whenever I need inspiration and a reminder that I am creating my world. I am a happier person for it!
