I have been a fan and practitioner of The Secret, and whenever I want or need something to happen I turn to prayer and the law of attraction.

Over the last few months I have been imagining myself winning something valuable in a raffle (like winning a car, or just winning money). I haven’t been very specific, but the goal was clear: I will receive something big and valuable.

It was the season in my job where no bonuses were due to be given, and the annual pay was completed. Therefore it was clear: the money that I’m expecting will just have to come from thin air.

Two days ago I was up late at night and decided to read emails that have gone through my Blackberry. I got an email from our company’s finance department. The senior manager told me to expect a deposit, because after running an audit they realized that they haven’t paid a monthly allowance since I got promoted in November 2009! I hadn’t even realized that I was missing this, because the money that I get every payday is the same figure, and my payslips were always delayed and I’m too lazy to check the content.

The power of the universe clearly at work. I still believe that I’m gonna win a raffle though. 😉
