Every athlete has a dream of winning! I have known about The Secret for a few years but I have not applied it to sports.
In October of 2014 I decided to buy a vision board. On my vision board I put up pictures and phrases that I felt would help me achieve my goal of becoming an All-American in track and field. I have won many races and championships but not this one. One of these items I put on my board was of a trophy.
Every day from October to March I touched the items on my vision board and felt gratitude for each one of them. Not only did I touch my items I trained extremely hard six days a week! My training consisted of running, swimming, lifting weights and dieting.
On March 14th 2015 was the Division 2 National Championship for track and field. I was there and ready to take top 8 and receive the status of All-American.
To my sadness, I placed 11th and didn’t get my award. I was heart broken. When I got home I took the items off my vision board and said “this doesn’t work!”
One month later on April 13th 2015 my coach called me into his office. He asked me if he had given me my All-American certificate. I was like what are you talking about coach I didn’t place high enough to get one.
Well this year things changed. The NCAA committee changed the structure of the awards and now 9th-12th place are crowned second team All-American! I was so filled with gratitude I wanted to cry.
My vision manifested later than expected. I learned to never give up, keep dreaming and believing!
