How The Secret Got Me To Park Avenue.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to live in a big city and make a name for myself. I grew up in the Midwest and went to college there as well. And while I loved where I lived, I was also painfully aware of the fact that most people who grew up there never left.
I made countless plans for myself to move that never materialized while I worked my first few jobs after college. While I was lucky to be employed in my field and enjoyed what I did, the longer I stuck around, the more I became scared that I would never leave.
I had just taken a new job in the tech industry. I was convinced that it would lock me into my living situation for at least the next couple of years. I was working with an old college friend of mine. A few months into working there, he suggested that I watch “The Secret”. So I did, and then I shared it with my boyfriend. It changed our lives.
We made a promise to each other that we would move to a wonderful, exciting, new city within one year and have plenty of money so we didn’t have to worry. Every morning I spent time sending gratitude out into the Universe. I would always be feeling thankful for all that we already had and our new adventure. We didn’t know how it was going to happen, but we planned and acted as though we would indeed be moving within the year.
Exactly one year later, several things happened at once. My friend, who had introduced me to The Secret, left for a new job. Also, my boss announced that she too would be leaving. Suddenly it didn’t make any sense for me to be working in our satellite office since every member of our team there would be gone. So I gathered my courage and asked if I could transfer to our HQ. Located at Park Avenue in New York City! The response I got was simply “How soon can you move?” And just like that, one year after the promise my boyfriend and I had made to each other, we were packing our bags!
My move came along with a promotion and the biggest single raise my company has ever given an employee. When I got the letter announcing my new title and salary, I hung it up on our fridge and wrote “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” on it in big letters. Every morning when I walk through Grand Central Station on my way to work, I pause for a few seconds to look around at where I am and feel grateful.
There are so many more things that my boyfriend and I want to do, and after seeing the power of The Secret manifest in our lives, we firmly believe it is all possible. Since our arrival here a few months ago, I have had doors opened for me professionally that I’d never dreamed of! My boyfriend has an incredible new job making the exact salary he put down on The Secret Check he wrote for himself a few months ago. We are on our way to even greater financial freedom and success.
The Secret is real. Trust that if you see your desire in your mind, ask for it, and then take every action that comes your way to make it a reality, it will happen. Be patient and be grateful for what you have now, and what’s coming your way. Wonderful things have already been set it motion.
With joy and gratitude,
