Rocks Like Cake

Ashland, OregonI'm currently a student with dreams as big as the universe, a young heart, and an old soul. I've always been the one weird kid in the room, but that weirdness is something I'm proud of!
In my hometown, I have a small rock collection that I’ve brought together over the years. I love examining these rocks in every detail, especially their features, texture, and smell. When I’m thinking about something or want to relax, I’ll take one or several rocks out of the box I keep them in and roll them around in my hands or arrange them around my room and just be happy that I’ve collected so many beautiful rocks.
When it was time for me to leave home for college, I knew I couldn’t bring my collection with me to a small dorm room. So I decided that while away from home, I would start a new collection of rocks for my dorm.
Sadly, in my first few weeks at school, the only rocks I had seen around campus were chips of cement and those were far from what I wanted to collect. I missed my collection from home and often wished I had a rock with me when I was stressed or sad.
After a while though, I started to think about The Secret.
A friend of mine in high school had been an avid follower of the practice and I thought about it more and more. A few days later, I found a copy of The Secret on sale at a bookstore and bought it.
I read the book for the first time and decided that one morning, no matter what, I would find a rock to start my new collection. I thought about it all morning and started picturing what I thought would be the perfect rock to collect.
Later that morning, on my way to class, I got a sudden gut feeling that I should cut off the path I was on and walk across a small lawn to get to class. I did that and at some point looked down and there at my feet was a round, smooth rock that literally sparkled with some iridescent mineral! I picked up the rock and kept it with me through class and later that day found a second rock on my way back to the dorms.
I examined the rocks in my hands just like I would do for my collection at home and was overjoyed that I had a collection now. The collection has since grown to several rocks that occupy a corner of my nightstand drawer.
The funny thing about these rocks, they smell like cake, I kid you not.
For those of you wondering if The Secret is for real, I’ve seen it work! Try something small if you must but never forget that it works because it does and I continue to use it to this day!
