Right In Front Of President Barack Obama

University of MichiganAspiring world leader, it will happen! :)
Last week around Tuesday, it was announced that President Obama would speak at the University of Michigan.
Now, I happen to attend the University, and I knew that this opportunity would never present itself again. After all, as a future world leader, I have to take advantage of such opportunities. He was to speak about raising the minimum wage. Anyway, as soon as I heard that he was going to speak at Michigan, I knew that I absolutely HAD to attend this event.
This would prove to be an eventful week. I envisioned being there, in the front, with a great view of the President. As for getting there, I waited patiently, until one day it was announced that tickets would be given out to students on the Tuesday of this week beginning at 9:00 AM. My friends and I made plans to camp out all night outside of the Union building to ensure that we would get tickets. About half of the campus had the exact same idea.
Halfway through the night, I got really tired, and so I went back to my house, with plans to only sleep for a couple hours. That didn’t happen. My iPhone alarm failed me, which it never, ever, ever does, and I woke up at 7:20!!! Panicked, I ran outside only to find an absolutely massive line outside of the box office, and my friends were nowhere in sight. I ended up at the end of the line, much to my displeasure.
However, having been a long practitioner of The Secret (I have a couple of stories up on this website :)), I figured that it would all work out in the end. I met a guy who was at the end of the line with me, and we were both a little worried that we wouldn’t get tickets, but I knew that it would all work out. There were rumors that only 1000 tickets would be handed out, but that didn’t deter my positive thinking.
In the end, we both received tickets, even though we got there so late! I was so grateful.
The next day, people started lining up at about 4:30 AM so that they could get a good spot. General admission sucks, let’s be real. A couple of my friends got there about 7:30, and my good friend and I joined at about 11:30.
Somehow, it all worked out, because we got great spots!
Right in front of President Barack Obama! And his speech was amazing. He loves the University of Michigan, and he was hilarious. Despite all of the waiting and uncertainty, it worked out perfectly! Better than I had originally thought it would! We even got better spots than the people who had lined up at 4:30.
So, this shows the power of The Secret in the short term.
I am so, so, so incredibly grateful to have had such an amazing opportunity! Thank you Universe. And also, thanks to Barack Obama for visiting the University of Michigan.
