Houston, TXI was born and raised in Colombia and moved to the Houston 11 years ago. I am a widow and mother of the most amazing 10 year old girl. I am also an aviation, travel, nature and animal lover.
I have been working for a company for a year and a half and during the last 3 months, I had started to feel very discouraged, as work had been very stagnant for a long time.
I am very grateful that I have a job but I started to feel frustrated and unhappy to the point where I dreaded going to my office every morning. So I started to work on my resume on and off because I wanted to prepare to find new job opportunities instead of feeling helpless and complaining about my situation.
I also started to read a lot a few months ago and the first time I went to the library I stumbled upon The Secret. I checked it out since I had seen the movie before and I thought that reading it would help me find the strength and inspiration I was looking for.
I finished my resume 5 days ago. I didn’t apply for any jobs, I just had the intention to apply for jobs and visualized an opportunity where I would earn twice or 3 times as much as what I am making right now and a workplace where I could experience more things.
Two days ago a colleague sent me a Facebook message telling me, and I quote, “We are currently looking for a person with your qualifications to fill our operations position”. He mentioned the pay and other benefits and the pay is actually 3 times as much as what I am currently making! They are also offering a very generous signing bonus along with an end of the year bonus!
Long story short, I replied telling him about the big coincidence and that I was interested in that position.
Today at 4:34 pm he offered me the job and tomorrow I am going to negotiate a few things and seal the deal.
I don’t know if this is a coincidence or maybe I used The Secret as it was and as I intended. Nonetheless, I wanted to share this message as it is happening to me at this very moment and I hope this message inspires and helps somebody.
Keep working, projecting and believing.
