Post-it note love
Submitted by: Erin H.
Victoria, BCI am a single mother of one from beautiful British Columbia. I am 29 years old, employed part time at a spiritual cafe.
About 7 years ago I decided to take a leap of faith and move back home to the west coast from the prairies where I had had my son. (I was a single parent) I left my good hospital job and with nothing but an apartment set up, headed west. I thought I was heading for the promised land. BC seemed so much more prosperous than the stark prairies, but what a shock when I arrived. I went through 8 babysitters in 2 weeks… there were NO daycares in the city available. Without daycare I couldn’t find work.
6 months go by and still I am on all the waitlists. Any babysitter I hired never showed up. And I was now on welfare!
9 months go by and I was watching a talk show. It was about creating the things you want in life. They said post-it notes are great. Write what you want and put them all over the house so you see and think about it all day. I did. I wrote something along the lines of ‘I will find meaningful financially abundant work and a good daycare.’
Within 2 weeks I had both.
I didn’t know then that this was the law of attraction at work. But I knew without a doubt that the post-its brought to me what I had tried to do for going on a year.
