Passing My Driving Test The First Time!
Submitted by: Debbie
London, UKA young woman, finding her way.
I decided to utilize my understanding of the law of attraction (LOA) and The Secret to ensure that I would pass my driving test on my first attempt. I had started taking driving lessons two winters ago, but for various reasons and excuses, I had discontinued them. Despite having already passed my theory test, I was conscious of the fact that I had a two-year window before it expired and I would have to retake it. Initially, I had thought that two years was plenty of time, but time flew by quickly. Before I knew it, I had only six months left before my theory test was due to expire.
A lot had changed in my life since I last drove a car, and my self-confidence, as well as my driving abilities, had taken a hit. Despite my apprehensions, I made the decision to go for it anyway and was prepared to invest the necessary time and money in it.
I sought out another driving instructor, resumed my lessons, and once I felt ready, I booked my test. I postponed the test date slightly and ultimately settled on a second date. When I input the test date into my calendar, I scheduled a lesson about an hour and a half before the test, labeling it as “my final lesson,” and I named the test “passing driving test.” I had the option to add notes to an event in my phone’s calendar, and I composed a brief paragraph expressing my gratitude for successfully passing my practical driving test on that specific day. I thanked the Universe for making the test easy and stress-free and for enabling me to feel comfortable, confident, and in control. I also expressed my appreciation to both of my instructors for guiding me to this significant achievement. I really felt the elation of passing the test on my first attempt and showered my gratitude with multiple “thank yous” and a heart emoji. Interestingly, I had not revisited this note until now as I typed it out, and I had entered the event in my phone about two weeks before the exam, possibly even earlier.
In the days leading up to my test, I made a conscious effort to channel positive energy and visualize my success. I read The Secret success stories and sought tips and advice online. I watched instructional videos on YouTube to better prepare myself. I repeatedly told myself that everything would work out even better than I expected, and I expressed gratitude for passing my test on the first try. While reading The Secret success stories, I came across advice that suggested sending out positive vibes to the Universe and then letting go of the outcome. However, I found it challenging to detach myself from the thought of the test.
Instead, I decided to embrace my nerves as a reminder to express gratitude and transform them into feelings of excitement and appreciation rather than fear. I would visualize the examiner congratulating me on passing the test and even drafting a text in my phone’s notes to my mom, jubilantly announcing that I was now a fully licensed UK driver.
Using a mobile app, I created a collage depicting various elements of the test day, including the food I would consume, the water I would drink, the green “P” sign, and the highlight of it all – the practical driving test pass certificate. Taking it a step further, I located a blank certificate online and filled in my details. Interestingly, the license number remains the same as on the provisional license, allowing me to include it on the certificate. I even went as far as signing the document, although it wasn’t required unless mailed on the test day. These actions made the entire experience feel more personal and real to me.
On the day of the test, I engaged in activities that made me feel good. I indulged in a special breakfast, painted my nails, tidied up my eyebrows, styled my hair, and dressed in an outfit that boosted my confidence. Repeatedly, I assured myself that everything would turn out even better than expected and expressed gratitude for having a kind examiner.
During my final lesson, I made two significant errors that could have resulted in failure, but rather than letting them dishearten me, the examiner and I agreed that they served as valuable lessons, ensuring they would not be repeated during the test. While waiting in the examination room, I engaged in casual conversation with the examiner, which bolstered my confidence. When the examiner called me, I felt assured and at ease. As we embarked on the test, we conversed about various topics, which made the drive feel comfortable and enjoyable. Miraculously, the daunting roundabout that had been a source of concern turned out to be a non-issue, as I only had to take the first exit. Although I initially made a small error due to a misleading road just before the exit, I swiftly corrected it. The entire drive felt swift and pleasant, akin to driving with a friend. Upon returning to the test center, I flawlessly executed a forward bay park, a task I typically struggled with. To my delight, the examiner informed me that I had passed, with only two minor infractions, neither of which were related to the roundabout mishap. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I am overjoyed and immensely grateful for this accomplishment. I believe that my positive mindset and visualization exercises played a significant role in my success.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
