I moved to the US in August of 2008 for my MBA.
In September of 2008, I watched in disbelief as the US financial market crumbled. I had left behind a great job and family to come to the US in hopes of working on Wall Street.
As the financial giants continued to fall, my dream of getting an internship appeared to be disappearing fast.
It was April 2009 and I did not have an internship. It was then that I read The Secret. At that point, I had no internship and no chance of getting a paid internship because no one was hiring, as the economy had collapsed. However, after I read The Secret, I was ready to give the law of attraction a try as I had nothing to lose.
So I started and continued to be grateful to the Universe for giving me an internship and a paid one at that.
At the end of May, I got a call for an internship. I went for an interview and I got an appointment letter. I was so grateful for the internship that I did not even open the letter.
On the first day that I was to start my internship, I went and told my boss that I needed to leave by 4.30 pm each day as I had to work a part-time job.
She looked incredulously at me and asked me if I had even opened the letter. I said I had not. She asked me to open it.
My internship pay was $1500 and my internship was to continue throughout summer! I was overwhelmed and immensely grateful.
