In January 2014, I started getting some pains on the right side of my lower abdomen. However, I did not visit the doctor until nearly the end of 2014 after the pains started getting worse. I was sent for a scan which showed I had a 7 cm ovarian cyst. A cyst of this size is considered dangerous as it may twist and rupture and therefore damage my ovary. I was also told a cyst of this size never gets smaller or disappears. The doctor said I would need surgery to remove it. I was devastated with the news. I have never had and hope to never have to have surgery in my life.

I immediately started Googling natural ways to shrink the cyst myself before my surgery was due in about 6 weeks time. What ever happened, I was not going to have an operation for this. I tried everything I could find online, drinking lemon water with baking soda, drinking disgusting apple cider vinegar with molasses, lots of chamomile tea, applying castor oil on my abdomen, eating maca powder and, of course, imagining that my cyst had shrunk. As the 6 weeks drew nearer, I felt no difference in my body. However, I managed to postpone the surgery date and get an appointment for another scan. Days before the scan, I was in so much pain that I had doubts that the cyst had shrunk. Had it got bigger? However, my scan showed the cyst was now down to 3 cm after just 6 weeks!!! I booked another scan for 8 weeks later. During this time, I continued everything I was doing and imagined the cyst had completely gone away. And hey, the next scan showed the cyst had completely disappeared!!
