Hi everyone and thank you for allowing me to share my story here! I first saw The Secret book on the shelves at my local bookstore when it was first released several years ago. I was curious about it, but at the same time I was very skeptical; I thought it was some kind of New Age crock, to be honest. I didn’t buy it, but for the longest time after I saw it, in the back of my mind I was still curious.

Fast forward to September of 2011. I finally caved and bought the book. I got home, started reading it, and couldn’t put it down until I finished it at dawn the next morning. Everything that had been going on in my life was starting to make sense. Then I sought out the movie. Once the bit at the beginning (did anyone else think it was a little cheesy? Lol.) played, putting faces to the names and thoughts that were in the book made me believe that maybe it all really was possible and that I really needed to change my thoughts and actions to be more positive.

This next part was what really cemented it for me, but it’s not the biggest part that I’m so excited to share with you all. Just bear with me! For a while, I’ve wanted this lovely little comforter set, but it was too expensive and there was no way I wanted to pay that much for it. So I thought, “I will buy it when the price goes down, by next month.” Three weeks later, after I nearly forgot about it, I received a promotional 20% discount coupon in the mail from the store that sold that comforter set, and then I remembered! My husband and I went to the store just to see if the set was still available, and to my delight, there was one last set, and it was marked down more than 75%. So with the coupon that I had, we bought the set. 🙂 I remember being so excited and grateful and saying out loud, “Thank you, God and Universe! Thank you, thank you, thank you.” (You can tell that I REALLY wanted this set.)

So now that my faith in The Secret is so strong, here’s the best part of it for me, and for my mother. For the past 6 years since my family and I moved to our new home here, our previous home has been on the market for sale. To our realtors, it appeared to have very slim chances of being sold–it was old and huge, as a 7000 sq. ft. home, 4 bedrooms and 4 baths in the main living area, as well as a 3 bed/3 bath mother-in-law suite. “No family is big enough to buy that, and for the same price…well, people would rather buy a brand new home,” they said. Then with the recession and the housing market crash, well, you can guess that our sentiment was the same.

Once I started using The Secret last year, though, I mentioned to my mother this past February that maybe we should just keep praying and believing that someone will buy the house. Mom and I both affirmed, “We’ll definitely sell it by the end of March!”

Well, the month of March came and went, and now I know that if I hadn’t let doubt creep into my thoughts, then our affirmation would surely have been a reality. But Mom didn’t stop believing, because on May 1st we received word from our realtor that a buyer wanted the home–and even better, was going to pay for it in cash!

While we talked about it last night, I realized that Mom had been using the law of attraction all along for nearly everything in her life and the livelihood of our family. You and I know it as the law of attraction, but she knows it as her absolute faith in God.

I can’t stop smiling and being grateful for this beautiful life, for my God, and for the most awesome law of attraction. Thank you Rhonda and The Secret team for sharing with us The Secret and The Power that we’re capable of.
