Gift Of Mobility
Submitted by: John Warnick
Wheeling WVAt church & civic talks and in conversations with everyone I meet, I present myself for who I am, a simple man with huge positive energies, capable of solving my missions need, providing mobility to physically disabled people in impoverished countries. I am a 53 year old healthy American, blessed with mobility and a 'global sized' positive spirit to impact the needed change my mission requires. I know the simplicity of my making myself available and seeing the end need clearly being met are all it takes. I posses all I need to solve our missions need. I see in my mind my mobility shared by those we serve. I see hundreds of them, daily, proudly for the first time, living with God's Love. I believe it and see it daily. It is happening, the how is not my concern, the vision will never fade, the how just keeps happening!
Transforming Lives with the Gift of Mobility–that’s what John Warnick was told his 1000 mile bicycle trip as an Ambassador for Mobility for the Free Wheelchair Mission would do.
The inspiration for his deepened dedication to others in need came from reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and realizing that inside himself was the energy to have a huge global impact. “After reading and meditating on the books’ message, I realized that every day/every second I will call into existence through my thoughts a total commitment to ending this human suffering. I now know I have the power to attract others to share in my vision. This is a solvable problem,” quotes Warnick.
For one month John rode and received donations and continuous daily blessings from all he shared the Free Wheelchair Mission story with Hearts expanded instantly, you could see it in their eyes as he shared with them the plight of over 100 million people living in impoverished countries around the world, many crawling on the ground without hope or mobility, and unaware that God’s Love would soon be brought to them, transforming their lives and filling their hearts.
Yes, Warnick witnessed transformation, that’s for sure. He witnessed strangers hearts being opened wide and used by God, used to bring that transformation of those folks without mobility, with the gift of a Free Wheelchair Mission $59.20 wheelchair, given free to those in need.
What Warnick never bargained for or expected was that his life would receive the biggest transformation of all. His original goal was to improve himself mentally and physically as he had done on many trips before. What he hadn’t known before was that the best exercise for the human heart was to bend down and lift others up. If it had not been for God speaking to him as he selfishly planned another bike trip, and telling him to dedicate his trip to those 100 million people living without mobility or God’s love, he very possibly would have never had his heart blown wide open and his life transformed to the service of the Free Wheelchair Mission. Now that he has received that great, simple gift of allowing himself to be a vessel of change, for God to use his hands, feet, body, and eyes to cast compassion on the world, his life has two purposes to continue to be an Ambassador for Mobility and to share the life changing message of what God has in store for us when we step forward and say, God, use me in whatever way you desire.
Warnick has been speaking at churches and groups, and to all he meets, encouraging them to use their lives to the service of God, step forward, make yourself available to God, and he will use you in ways you could never imagine. Its what he expects of us. We are the vessel which carries God’s love and compassion to the world. The inner peace of knowing finally what my life means, what its purpose is, has brought me a calm I never knew existed. Its brought me what God wants us all to have: God running our lives and not us stumbling along somehow thinking we are in control.
Warnick sees God using his life to impact huge change around the world, something he could never hope to achieve by himself. “If you can visualize it, you can achieve it. My thoughts are always planting seeds in anticipation of reaping a magnificent harvest in the form of reducing human suffering for others.
Warnick vows to let God use his cycling, running, and mobility to transform lives with the Free Wheelchair Mission. May 14-15 he will cycle from his home in Wheeling WV, to Pittsburgh PA, and pull one of the Free Wheelchair Missions wheelchairs behind his bike and then push the chair in the Pittsburgh Marathon. He is also working on a trip for next year cycling 2500 miles to California, to then run in the Free Wheelchair Missions Run for Mobility, Surf City marathon.
God is doing with my life what he wants to do with all our lives. He wants to cast his love and compassion on mankind, and reduce human suffering, and we are the tools with which he accomplishes that. All we have to do is say, Lord here I am,” and with us, God will transform the world.
I know one thing. I see the end result in my mind’s eye: people receiving God’s love in the form of a wheelchair. I am calling that into being, and the how will take care of itself. It is already growing wheels through my mobility, the wheels will remain turning and along the way will come the resolution to the need. My job is to concentrate on the vision.
For Everyone’s Mobility, John Warnick
