I’m going to try and keep this is as short as I can, but the details in my story are so awesome how they all fit together that I have to include everything lol. I’ve read and watched The Secret a few years ago, but like many things in my life, my focus for it fell by the wayside. Then about a month ago my 15 year old car was really hitting breaking point, and I had a very bad feeling that a huge repair was imminent. I had already invested SO much in repairs, but it was our only car and I had no other way to get to work (my husband rides a longboard skateboard 6 miles each way to his job). My husband and I have a repo on our record and not-so-good credit, and we had been told before that without several thousand dollars for a down payment, a newer car was completely out of the question.

On a Saturday morning my friend had asked me to give her a ride to Tampa the following weekend (about an hour and a half away) but I was afraid my car wasn’t going to make it, so I said no. Then my mom called, and asked me about a book she had found under the seat of her car- it was my copy of The Secret that I had lent to my brother. Well, my mom NEVER goes for anything metaphysical, so the fact that she sounded so interested and upbeat about it gave me that tingly feeling that maybe I should try it again, so I watched the movie on Netflix that afternoon.

In the middle of the movie, for no reason, I got the urge to RIGHT THEN check my email, and online I saw a story about used cars. I made one click, and was taken directly to a site for our local Honda dealership. This was all a little coincidental for me, so I filled out the “contact us” email and went back to the movie. Watching it gave me this great, contented feeling- we’ve ALWAYS been grateful and blessed for everything we have, but all of a sudden it hit me how blessed I was GOING to be! I really can’t explain it, it just felt like I had a blanket of knowing wrapped around me, I could actually feel a glow around me (I know it sounds crazy lol!) But it’s true.

I called my friend and told her I would be happy to give her a ride after all- that I had a good, safe car and we would have a great trip. I didn’t know how, I just knew that we would. She was a little confused but thanked me, and then said “Hey, this is a weird question, but have you ever seen a movie called The Secret?” 2 people in 1 day asking me about The Secret, that I myself hadn’t thought about in years? Yep, the Universe was definitely talking to me!!

So that was Saturday. On Monday, the manager of the Honda dealership gave me a call. On Wednesday, my husband and I signed the papers for our new Honda Element. We have a payment that we can afford, a car we can rely on that will be paid off in just 3 years, and a wonderful opportunity to rebuild our credit- and believe me, with our credit and the condition of my trade in, this would NOT have happened under ordinary circumstances! And my friend and I went to Tampa- in a good, safe car and we had a great trip, just like I had said!

When we were in Tampa I visited my family, and my brother and sister had been having an especially hard time. My sister had her first baby 6 months ago and her car was almost in as bad a shape as mine had been. My brother was unemployed and very depressed about not being able to find a good job no matter how hard he was trying. i tried to tell them about The Secret but they pretty much laughed, and just gave me that “you’re our sister and we love you so we’ll humor you” look. I told them that since they didn’t believe, I would just have to believe twice as hard for them! I just KNEW my sister was going to have a great new car, and that my brother was going to be successful. I didn’t have to envision it, I just let myself feel the gratitude and happiness of knowing how well they were doing. Not GOING to be doing, but doing, present tense- that is the key!

Within a week I got a call from my sister. Her fiancee had gotten a surprise $5k bonus at work, and he used it to buy her a Jeep Grand Cherokee. She now has a reliable, safe car for herself and their baby.

My brother still had no good job prospects and needed rent money, so he came out to Sarasota to be a helper during the Valentine’s holiday at the flower shop my husband works for. Well, while he was there they offered him a full time job with any overtime he wants, starting immediately. But get this- THERE WEREN’T ANY POSITIONS OPEN- they just decided they really wanted him to work for them, so they CREATED a job for him. Believe me, this has NEVER EVER happened at this company. So now my brother is moving to Sarasota for a great job and has all sorts of positive things ahead of him!

And so many little things keep happening too that really let me know that the Universe IS listening, and that I have the power, through my good thoughts and positive energy, to allow wonderful things to happen- not just for myself and my husband, but for my loved ones as well. Thank you for reading my story! I hope it inspires even one person to not give up, and keep believing because it DOES work. I am so grateful for The Secret, and for the Universe that is always ready to listen : )
