A few years ago I was introduced by a friend of mine to The Secret. Back then I had started my first job as a High School teacher. A year in I realised that I was so unhappy at this school, the job,  the town and I was so very lonely. I had rented a small apartment just outside of the town. Anyway, after seeing the show on Oprah again it rekindled the feeling, and that very same night I decided to write down exactly what I wanted. It was the following:

1. A new job with a higher status.
2. I wanted to live by the sea
3. I wanted to meet someone special.

I folded up the paper and placed it in a wishing bowl. A wishing bowl is a bowl filled with whatever you feel is special, it can be stones, flowers, etc.

A week passed and one of the school teachers approached me and told me that they knew of a campus head looking for a specialised lecturer to teach at his college. I was a specialised teacher back then.

Long story short; I eventually went to see the campus head and right there and then he offered me the position! The only problem was that he wanted me to start right away and this college was quite far from where I lived. It was 4 towns away. I had to physically relocate. None the less, I did so. I had to find a new place ASAP and the only available place was 20 minutes away from the colleges.

But, guess where?!!

Right across from the beach!! For the first time in my life I had a ocean view apartment.

On the day that I had to start, that afternoon the campus head introduced me in a formal staff meeting that was scheduled for that day. And right in the corner there I saw him! This person eventually became my life partner and we are a bringing up two lovely boys. All 3 my wishes or “requests” came true.

And that’s my story! Yes, The Secret does work!

One thing I can add is that you really have to change your mindset from negative to positive in order for your dreams to manifest. Try to first find peace and quiet your mind. Indulge in positive thoughts and the rest will follow.
