Ok, so I started reading The Secret after being at home on one new years eve crying my eyes out. My boyfriend of three years had just broken up with me and I felt like I was lost without him. I had read The Secret a few years before but at the time, if I’m honest, I wasn’t a believer; I was very much a ‘what’s meant to be will be’ person.

Something on that evening made me think about The Secret. They say when you really need it, it will come to you, and that’s exactly what happened. I thought to myself, “I will go tomorrow and buy it.” I went on to iTunes to download some music and there it was. When I downloaded it, I felt like all my worries were over! Something just clicked. I knew this would work!

I went to see my boyfriend and told him about the book. All I wanted at the time was to get back together, and I used The Secret to make this happen. A lot happened that year, and eventually we broke up a year later.

I was trying to use The Secret all year, but I was a very negative person and it just didn’t work for me. I tried to be grateful for what I had, but I don’t think deep down what I had was what I wanted. I struggled a lot with money, and this was the biggest problem for me.

I moved back to my parents and had to leave my job and start again. I had already started to feel a lot more positive, and I sat and thought to myself, “I would love an amazing job that pays £50,000 a year.” This seemed so unachievable, but for those few minutes I imagined it and felt really happy.

A few days later a birthday flagged up on Facebook of someone I knew from my hometown (not someone I knew well, just to say hi in passing). I’m not sure why but I decided to email to say happy birthday. We got chatting and I found out he owned a company in my home town and he said, “Pop in and we can see if we have a job for you.” I started working for the company the next week, and I am not earning £50,000 a year but around £47,000. Good enough for me, as my old job was £6.00 an hour for 20 hours a week!! I’ve been so grateful for this job and thank the universe every day.

One day I got locked in the office, so when I was waiting for someone to rescue me I decided to print off some images to make a vision board. I printed a picture of a happy couple and a car and a few things I wanted. I had a gap so I thought, “I’ll print a picture of Dubai.” I’ve been before and loved it, so why not!?!

A few days later an old friend contacted me on Facebook. We always got on well and he’s gorgeous, but when we knew each other I had a boyfriend and it had never crossed my mind that we could be anything more than friends. He was from my home town but living in Dubai, which I didn’t know until we got talking. He invited me over for a holiday, so I went, we had an amazing time, and he’s been back to see me and we are very much in love now!!! He’s just perfect and amazing and now I’m planning to move to Dubai… the place I put on my vision board to fill a gap!!!

Today I have asked my job if I can move and still work for them, so we will see. But I’m keeping very positive as I know whatever I want I can have! I’m so grateful for my life and The Secret. It has completely turned everything around for me… I’m excited about what’s to come.
