Never Give Up.

USAAn author who loves nature, travel, and continually improving my life.
I grew up in a very doom and gloom area. A place where everyone believed life was terrible and there was nothing you could do about it. I call it the “poor me” mentality. Then I read The Secret. When I say this booked completely changed my life, I am not exaggerating. The Secret challenged everything society had taught me, it opened my world to possibilities and positivity. Most importantly, it made me realize that I was in charge of my destiny. Suddenly, my life changed and changed completely.
I had been a struggling writer, and decided to self-publish my young adult book, “The Mind Readers.” Although so many of my writer friends thought I would destroy my career by self-publishing, The Secret taught me to look for new opportunities in everything and to keep an open mind. My book had been rejected by just about every agent out there, but when I self-published, it was a success, and I started making a wonderful living.
I was able to take my family, 11 people, to Disney World. I grew up poor and we had never been on a family vacation. My husband and I were able to take my in-laws to Hawaii, a place they had always wanted to go but could never afford. We were able to move close to the beach, my husband got his dream car, people in public were nicer to me. The list goes on and on. Life was absolutely a dream come true.
Then, unfortunately, things changed. As it was the holidays, I was spending more time around family and friends who were still in that doom and gloom mentality. People who didn’t understand the new me, and did not want me to change. My own mind starting slipping back to the frustration and resentment I had felt before reading The Secret. My book sales plummeted to practically nothing, and I found myself floundering once again. Fortunately, because of The Secret, I knew what was happening and that I had to stop my dour thoughts from taking over.
Now I am determined to get back to where I was. I am religiously reading The Secret, using The Secret Apps and I am so grateful for all of your stories. I am watching Rhonda’s movies, and rereading her books. Most importantly, I am monitoring my thoughts and am determined to look at everything with gratitude and positivity, the way I once did.
Many of those doom and gloom family and friends have faded away, which I realize needed to happen. I have been manifested small things. I got $103 in the lottery, and yes, I asked for that exact amount! I manifested a very large sea shell, a spotted feather, even an old fashion child’s marble! I know there are more things to come.
If there is one piece of advice I have, it is to monitor your thoughts. Always look for things to appreciate and love, whether you’re taking a walk, or shopping at the grocery store. Live in a state of positivity and gratitude. I still struggle with negativity, but I realize, thanks to Rhonda and The Secret, that life is magical. I am determined to get back into that flow with one positive, grateful thought at a time! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
