Negative For 3 Missed Periods.
Submitted by: Bb
GhanaI am a woman married for 19 years. I have 3 children, ages 16, 9, and 4 and I am pregnant again. Each of my children have a different story that explains their age difference.
Months after I got married I was pregnant and successfully gave birth, but lost the baby. I was broken-hearted and wanted a baby badly.
Three months later, I missed my period and took a home test that came out negative. After a week, it was still negative but my period had not returned so I decided to see my doctor. He did a scan and saw an empty sac, then ordered a pregnancy test which also came out negative. He prescribed a medication that would help my period return so we could start the process again.
I took the prescription but I did not fill it because I was convinced that I was pregnant and that pills could abort my baby by making my period return. I followed my intuition. I didn’t look pregnant and did not have any pregnancy symptoms, just a little discomfort here and there, like having PMS.
I had decided that I would be OK if my period came naturally but I could not live with the guilt of mistakenly aborting my baby. For 3 more months, my period did not come and then I finally got a positive pregnancy test! Hurray!!! I started spotting for a few days but the baby was fine. I was given progesterone and the spotting stopped.
I went through my pregnancy successfully and I have my boy! I am very grateful to God.
