Hello everyone,

I wanted to share my story in case it provides some encouragement for anyone working towards their dreams. Please bear with me, as it’s a bit lengthy!

I recently discovered The Secret in November 2024 while using the Headway app on my commute to work. I was listening to practices on how to feel more confident with senior colleagues, due to some challenging circumstances at work. This led me to the realization that I have been practicing this mindset all my life!

About me:

I have always been a daydreamer since childhood, and I have envisioned a successful life in London for as long as I can remember. Even in preschool, I often drew myself as a businesswoman, dressed in business attire with a briefcase. My parents were quite surprised, especially since we had no connections to the UK or such a lifestyle. I grew up in another country on a farm, with a very basic upbringing. There were no expectations for me to attend university or pursue anything similar. My family often dismissed me as a dreamer, thinking it was just a phase I would outgrow. However, I felt destined for greater things.

By chance, I discovered an au pair arrangement in the UK, which became my ticket out! I worked during the summer after finishing school at 18. I saved enough money for the au pair agency fees and visa requirements and applied behind my family’s back. One of the families selected me, and off I went to the UK on a plane for the very first time! My family was discouraging me, insisting that the world was not as wonderful as I believed. Nevertheless, after many discussions, they eventually agreed to let me go.

I had a clear vision of how my life should unfold, and miraculously, it did! Though many people probably thought I was crazy, I decided to stop sharing my plans and just focused on making them happen. I was fortunate to live with very nice host families, which allowed me to help them while studying in my free time or in the evenings. Some au pairs ended up with not-so-great families and had to return home. I initially learned English, then went on to complete both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

Currently, I work in a senior role at a global company, and I feel that my career and success have come effortlessly. I have always known what I wanted, and I managed to get all the jobs I aimed for on my path up the ladder. I did work very hard, with long hours and making sacrifices, but I loved what I did, so it never felt difficult! The only difference from my childhood drawings is that I now carry a modern business bag instead of a briefcase, but close enough!

Even after all these years, when I enter boardrooms in the city, I sometimes feel like I’m dreaming. In those moments, I smile and send a mental thank you to the Universe.

Now, I feel ready to move on from the corporate world and pursue my passions again. After reading The Secret and watching YouTube programs, I even asked the Universe for a billion-pound idea! I’ve always had big dreams, so it’s definitely “go big or go home!”

For anyone who might find it helpful, my personal motto over the years, before knowing about The Secret, has been: “You can do it; you were born for this. Fortune favors the brave.” I would repeat this whenever I faced a tough meeting, interview, appraisal, presentation, or exam. In retrospect, it seems like it might be time for me to shift into new endeavors, and the Universe has guided me to connect with The Secret.

Regarding love, it appears I also manifested my partner! After dating for years without finding the right person, I was primarily focused on my career and didn’t have time for disappointments. However, during the COVID pandemic, I found myself with a little more time on my hands while working from home. In the evenings, as I prepared for bed, I imagined a partner with specific qualities lying next to me, and we fell asleep in each other’s embrace, where I felt safe and loved. Surprisingly, I met him in the summer of 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, even though I hardly left the house! The Universe truly finds a way! We are still together, and I can’t imagine my life any other way.

Lastly, thank you, thank you, thank you to the Universe, Rhonda, and the team! I truly enjoyed The Secret and the YouTube videos! You are doing absolutely amazing things for people!
