My Secret, Of Asking, Believing, And Receiving.

I moved into what seemed to be my dream home in July four years ago. We were renting this home, and although it needed some work, it had a lot of potential. The homeowners moved out of state and were willing to sell us the house. Due to the economy, they owed more on the mortgage than the amount we offered. After living in the house for five months, we received the first of several foreclosure statements. As per our lease agreement, the homeowners were supposed to make several updates within certain time frames, but they did not follow through.
Last March, my world was turned upside down when I was told that the house was in foreclosure and sold in a sheriff’s sale. We were given until May to find a new home and move out. Despite our efforts to reach the homeowners, we received no response. We had paid over $25,000 in rent over three years and lost our security deposits.
During this time, I encountered several unscrupulous real estate agents who were not acting in the best interests of my family but were solely focused on getting the property listed.
From March to May, we viewed several properties while I turned to the teachings associated with The Secret and prayed for help in finding our ideal home. My city had few homes in good areas suitable for my family of five and pets.
Although we found many homes for sale, there were few for lease. We had lost a lot of money on renting with the hope of buying, leaving us with very little for a down payment and making us less creditworthy for financing. I wanted to remain in the same neighborhood where I had grown up and raised my children, as it was well-maintained and safe. This is what happened:
1. Oh my gosh, we found one of my grandmother’s old homes. It’s not in the preferred area, but it’s still well maintained. This house is filled with so many wonderful childhood memories. It doesn’t have quite enough room but is still in great condition as she left it before it was sold.
2. We found three promising homes in the desired areas and actually met with the homeowners after requesting to meet my children. My husband and I were present for both initial meetings. However, with all three homes, after negotiating prices, the homeowners opted to remain in the house until the market changed.
3. I placed rental application deposits on up to three properties with no success.
When in doubt, let it all out! Ask, believe, and receive.
I want to remember the following text: “And when I say God knows the Plan! In Jesus’ name, he does!”
We went to court, and our eviction date was extended until the end of August giving us more time to find a home. This was another blessing! Just when we thought we had run out of options, we were denied additional homes because we refused to give away our pets. However, there was a glimmer of hope!
We had two months to leave our current home before being fully evicted. Luckily, my husband found a house on Craigslist that was just around the block from where we currently live! When I say around the block, I mean we could walk to meet the homeowners.
After completing the initial walkthrough, my husband and I were certain that this was the perfect home for us. It had 4 bedrooms, two full and two half baths, three fireplaces, and a finished basement with an office space that I needed to work from home. Initially, the homeowners were not open to having any pets (we have a cat and a dog), but due to our family situation, they were willing to allow it. There were multiple offers on the table, as this is a highly sought-after neighborhood in a major metropolitan city.
Visualizing. Every day, from the moment my husband and I first walked through this house, we imagined it was ours. We needed to find a place by August. So, we would walk around the block with our dog and even bring our cat, all the while claiming the house as ours. Then, on June 30th, we received the best news — we were approved! Since we were very close by, I had my kids transport things using bikes and rolling dollies with boxes. To some, this may seem extreme, but it really saved on moving costs!
I had become complacent in recent months, not fully utilizing my potential to achieve my goals. So, I created three vision boards on Pinterest to envision my goals for the year ahead, aiming to complete them by next year. I will continue to practice the principles learned from The Secret and eagerly anticipate what the future holds for me and my family. Currently, we are living comfortably in our beautiful home and looking forward to celebrating the holidays with our loved ones. Interestingly, the home I envisioned as my dream home was actually disliked by many, including my husband, kids, and friends. Despite this, I can see my husband and I retiring in our new home, just as the previous owners did after living here for over 50 years.
My next goal is to purchase this home and re-establish our credit so that we can do so. I also aim to find a way to generate additional income to provide lifelong financial stability for my family. Today, I am putting my request out into the Universe by asking, believing, and receiving all the greatness that my God and our Universe have destined for us. Thank you!
I am most grateful to Rhonda and the many professionals who have come forth to endorse all of these extraordinary theories and truths. I am also grateful to my Lord and all of the positive entities that surround me at all times. But most importantly, I am so very grateful for being a witness and sharing my story with each of you! My word is bond, and I promise myself that I will share all of my experiences moving forward with the greatness of the powers of faith, and belief.
The Secret is alive and lives from within! With additional good health and a lifetime of happiness to all
God Bless
