2009 was a horrible year for me, my marriage was miserable, I was always fussing with my kids, money was tight, and so on. In the spring of 2010 I read and began practicing The Secret. By the summer my husband had walked away from our marriage and we got divorced. We have 3 small children, so I wasn’t sure where my life was headed. I decided to follow the guidelines, live in the moment, ask for what I wanted and give thanks everyday for what I was grateful for.

In October of 2010 I began dating a man that is perfect for me. He is a single dad with 3 children the same ages as mine, he is a total family man, full of energy and NO negativity. We felt a connection right from the start and have been going steady ever since. When I became aware of how strong my feelings were for him I began imagining a ring and a bigger house for us all, even an eight passenger SUV. I cut out pictures and kept them in a diary and listed all of the things that I loved about him and all six kids. I made journal entries for the things he, or the kids, did that I was grateful for, fun times that we had, etc. I left one of his shirts hanging on one side of my closet so I could see it every morning. I put pictures of him and the kids all around my house. I looked at the picture of the ring often, visualized it and I wrote my name with his last name over and over. The ring was very specific, it had one square diamond in the middle surrounded by six smaller round diamonds, but I never told him about that.

Well, this year 2012, he gave me that ring!! It looks exactly like the one I had envisioned. Now we are planning a wedding, adding on to our house, and I traded in my car for the eight-passenger SUV. I now know that it is not coincidence that this all happened just as I had imagined. I am the happiest that I have every been in my life and I have so much more to look forward to.
