My perfect home
I was living in a tiny rented housing association flat with my son after my partner decided he no longer loved me and we couldn’t live together anymore. I left a 14-year relationship and a beautiful home, but I was free of the negative atmosphere and felt positive about the future. The flat was restrictive – it was not on the ground floor but it had an uncultivated garden. Having a disability made it hard for me to manage the stairs and make use of the garden. I yearned for a house that had character, where I had space, with a light and a beautiful garden. So I put myself on the register to exchange my property.
It seemed that everyone on the register who had a house just wanted a bigger one. Everyone who wanted a flat wanted a ground floor flat.
During my time in the flat I used to go online and look at the property for sale in my favorite town. I could never afford to buy one but loved to look at the houses for sale and imagined myself living in one of them. I did this every couple of weeks. It seemed a pipe dream.
After being on the register for nearly a year, a woman said she was looking for a place like mine in my locale. She had a 3 bedroom Victorian terraced house in the town I wanted to live in. She is a landscape gardener and had made the garden beautiful and easy to maintain. I thought this was too good to be true. I didn’t rush to arrange a viewing because I just felt that as soon as she saw how small my place was she’d not be interested. She persisted, and eventually I tidied it up and made it as spacious as I possibly could. As soon as she walked in the door she said she loved it! I then went to view her place and it was all that I had dreamed about during the year. It was the type of home I had looked at online but knew I could never afford.
After 3 months we exchanged homes and moved. I’m in my dream home now and feel so happy here. Everyone tells me they can’t believe I got this house from what I had before. It just doesn’t happen!
Well, a few weeks after moving in I met the lady who I exchanged with. I was sure she would have regretted it as I was in her former home that to me was perfect. She told me she loved the flat and felt it had always been her home. I was relieved to say the least. I had dreaded that she would be unhappy, as I would have felt bad about it.
Now I look forward to the future. I met my soul mate last year, and we want to share this home together.
Visualising and putting out the thoughts of living in my perfect home came true. Finding my soul mate who would love to share my dream is perfection. This truly worked for me, and I recommend The Secret to everyone.
