In early January 2007 I was living in Jakarta Indonesia, and I was surfing the internet looking for information regarding the world’s tallest building, requested by my 10 year old cousin. He was making his homework.

At that time I was hit the website from wikipedia which described the world’s tallest building. It said the world’s tallest building is Burj Dubai, located in Dubai UAE which is currently under development.

It was my early attraction to Dubai and the country UAE. I started to dig more and more information regarding a relatively young country that got independence in 1971 and now rapidly growing to be the world class economic hub.

Since my childhood, I was also very enthusiastic about aviation. I subscribe to many international aviation related magazines. My most admired aviation company is Airbus, and Dubai based Emirates Airlines.

In February, my friend who worked in my ex-company, informed me about a phenomenal book and movie, titled ‘The Secret’. He gave me the book as a gift. I read it and realized that actually everything that I achieved in my life was coming to me exactly as described in The Secret.

After I got enough information about Dubai and UAE, I discussed with my wife regarding the possibility to find a job in Dubai UAE. She was very enthusiastic with my idea. So every time before I went to sleep, I begun to send the message to God, and pray that I would find a good job in Dubai.

During my prayer, I visualized that I, my wife and my only daughter were already in Dubai, got a nice job, a nice car, and a nice a apartment. I also printed many pictures of Dubai and attached them in my photo album. My wife even wondered why.
I told her that it was as my reminder that I really want to be there.

Some months passed by without anything happening with my wish to work in Dubai. Until in September 2007, one of my colleagues who works in a branch office resigned and moved to other company. I actually never met her before, as I only communicate with her via email and phone, and that was only for office purposes.

When she sent the farewell email to me, I replied to her yahoo email to congratulate her and wish her luck in her new job. I also asked her where did she move. After about a week, she replied to my email saying she was in Dubai and working in a company whose name is very similar with my favorite airlines. I was surprised and asked her to inform me if there was any opportunity for me to join her company. In my first thought, I thought she was working in that airline, so I started to surf the web regarding that company and looked for any vacancy.

Luckily, there were some, so I informed her that there are some vacancies which suit with my qualification. She replied that she would consult her boss regarding the opening.

After about 2 days, she sent me an email asking me to send her my CV. But surprisingly her email domain was not the airlines. Her company was a bank whose name was like the airlines. So I think, it’s not a problem as I am also working in a bank, and decided to send her my CV.

Just about a week later, after I took some days off, I read my office email and there was an email asking me to send my passport copy to issue air ticket and visa for me for an assessment in Dubai. In November 16, 2007, I flew to Dubai to do the interview and test.

And after new year 2008 I departed to Dubai to join this company. So I feel so grateful that God has answered my prayer. The law of attraction that worked…
