My Mercedes
Submitted by: Lynnyvette Rogers
Manchester, England55 year old female, born in 1956 in England. I live with my 96 year old mother and have recently given up work to care for her.
It all started five years ago, and I have only just realised after reading The Secret what happened.
I was working for Mercedes Benz delivering parts to a garage when I saw my dream car, a lemon Mercedes. It was gorgeous. I asked the garage owner was it for sale and he said, “No it’s a customers in for a service.” I replied, “Oh, I love it.”
Two weeks later I delivered to the same garage and there was the car again. The garage owner said, “We’ve got your car in again. M.O.T this time.” I said, “Oh, it’s beautiful. Do you think the owner would like to sell it?” He said, “No, I don’t think so. He’s only had it twelve months.” I said, “If I leave you my phone number would you give it to the owner, and if he ever wants to sell it could he give me a call? I would love to own it.” He agreed.
I didn’t see the car again for a full twelve months, but I thought about it every day. I imagined myself driving it, cleaning it, and looking at the star on the bonnet twinkling in the sunlight. As I mentioned, I worked for Mercedes Benz, so was used to seeing all the beautiful cars day in day out. But this was different. It was an old car, but looked after, and i just wanted it!!
Twelve months after I saw the car I got carjacked – dragged out of my car outside my home at 8.30am in broad daylight on my way to work. I was left on the ground with no car and crying my eye’s out! That was on Thursday, and on the following Saturday still very, very upset and without a car, my phone rang. It was the owner of the lemon Mercedes asking if I wanted to buy it! I told him what had happened to me on the Thursday and asked him why now did he want to sell his car. He said, “I was offered a newer car yesterday and thought, yes, I would buy it. I also knew from twelve months ago how much you loved my lemon Merc and something told me to give you a call today.” I couldn’t believe it. I said, “YES! I will have it!” I didn’t even ask how much. I just knew I was meant to have that beautiful Lemon Mercedes Benz.
I still have the same car now five years on, and I appreciate it every day. I love it and also love to watch the sun twinkling on the star on the bonnet as I drive along.
I thought it and it was mine !!
