I had received a copy of The Secret four years ago when I moved to Dubai from a parent of one of my students. I began reading it, but for whatever reason, put it on a shelf until just a week ago. Maybe I wasn’t ready for it?

Anyway, I was immediately stuck this time around by how much sense The Secret made. I have several wishes in the works right now, but my first ah ha moment came today when I felt the true power of The Secret. Earlier this month I signed up to sell my baby stuff that is no longer being used. Unfortunately, I found out the next day that the sale was full and I would have to wait another month, but the next sale date I was busy. I really wanted to be able to sell my items before Christmas to make room for new things. I made the intention to be able to sell my things this month.

A couple of days ago, I was reading the section of The Secret that says that asking may not be enough, and that you need to ACT as if your wish is already coming true. Yesterday I told my husband that we were going to clean out the clothes that are too small for our kids and get them ready for this weekend for the sale. I also wished that I would find out today that a spot opened up in the sale.

I checked my email several times this morning, but nothing. In the afternoon I was writing an email to a friend, an email that just happened to be about The Secret, when I got a phone call from the sale event organizer. She asked if I still wanted to be a part of the event because ONE table had opened up.

She said there were 10 people on the waiting list and the first person she called didn’t want it. I was the second on the list!

I was overjoyed to know that my wish, my intentions, had been heard! This motivates me to continue on my new exciting path to make every aspect of my life how I want it to be!
