I have always been a dreamer. It might sound unreal, but I’ve always imagined a man in my life. Ever since I was a kid, whenever I would be alone at home, I would play out scenes that I would imagine all the time, like attending a function or dancing with friends, and my in-laws ill-treating me. For some reason, there would always be some problem that would keep us apart, though there was immense love. There was always this other woman who existed. I kind of romanticized pain. I did not know The Secret back then.

I read The Secret a few years ago when I was going through a divorce from an emotionally abusive husband and his family. I started applying it and my life changed. Slowly at first, but soon really fast and almost too good to be real.
I met a guy of my dreams. He is exactly how I always imagined my man and a lot more. He is patient, he is kind, he is so loving, he takes care of me like a baby, he is everything and more a woman can ask for, in every regard.
But, even after so much love between us and being in a relationship for 6 and a half years, we did not get married.

It was then that I had an epiphany. I have always imagined love but pain too. I always imagine another woman. So then I changed my thoughts and my feelings. I stopped thinking about it and obsessing over it. I let it go. I went back to my imaginary man. I imagined being married to him and doing everything together. Like eating together, and laughing together. I felt gratitude for each moment.

And you won’t believe it but within a short period, my real man proposed to me. His family accepted me and today we have a blissful marriage.
