Money to a stranger
Submitted by: Anouska B
Isle of Wight, EnglandI'm a single mother who runs her own entertainment business, and is discovering the joys of The Secret.
I was waiting for some friends outside Portsmouth railway station and saw this man sit down begging. He was sat in the usual spot of the homeless people, but I realised that with Timberland trainers he was not one of the usual beggars who I normally give loose change to. Somehow I got talking to him. It turned out he had been to the Isle of Wight music festival and had lost everything, his money, coach ticket home, and mobile. He was desperately trying to get money to get back up north. I looked into my purse and only had notes in there. I have never given a complete stranger note money before, and knew I needed every penny this week, as I had a party to go to at the weekend were I would have to buy a meal for both me and my daughter, the dinner with friends that evening, as well as money to get the bus back when I got back to the island. In the end I thought, “At least I can go to my account and get some more money out,” so I gave this man the five pound note.
When my friends came we went to the shopping center and I went to the cash machine to get some more money out and discovered there was an unexpected cash injection of 200 pounds into my account.
Although I wanted to write about this story to tell you about what had happened recently, I have used The Secret to turn my life around after a very negative year last year. I have now got my business up and running again, returned myself back to good health, made new friends, and my dream of becoming a writer is becoming a reality, as well as learning to drive and I was given a car when I wrote it down on a vision page, and given a placement free on a christian holiday with my church. I wanted to go on it but couldn’t afford it, as I had already paid for my daughter to attend, but someone dropped out leaving a free space.
