Mitthu, My Parrot Is Back!
First of all, I am very grateful to dear Rhonda Byrne and the team of The Secret for The Secret and The Secret series. They are such a beautiful gift to us.
I was introduced to The Secret in 2011 by my friend, Ankita, during the time I was working on my Ph.D. She gave me her copy of The Secret to read. After reading a few pages I had a strong desire to get this book and to always have it in my room and available to me. A few hours later on the same day, my roommate, Sukanya, entered the room with a new copy of The Secret that had been gifted to her by her brother. She did not know anything about the book. I was like, wow, and OMG! That evening was awesome.
During that month, I needed to go to another city because of my research. I took the train to get there and guess what happened! At the railway station, suddenly I saw The Secret looking at me from a book store! I felt overjoyed! Now I am in full time companionship with The Secret. The rest of that journey was also amazing but I will tell you about that some other day.
I am here today to tell the story of how I got my sweetheart “Mitthu”, an Indian Ring Neck parrot, back home with me. I had brought him home two years ago when he was just a one month old, baby parrot. We nurtured him like a sweet baby so he became very naughty but we really loved all his naughtiness. He is the joy of me and my husband’s life. While we do have other pets, other parrots, a rabbit, love-birds, budgies, an Alexandrine parrot, and fish, he is the most lovable to us because of his demands and naughtiness. If I were to keep writing about him I would fill up way too many pages so I will come to the point.
One bad day, during the lockdown period due to Covid-19, he flew off our roof and was lost. Due to the lockdown situation at the time, we could not search for him much but we did as much as we possibly could. Every day, and sometimes many times in a day, I was crying and praying for him, for his safety and for his safe return. Every day started out with the hope of his returning and ended with tears and fear.
One day The Secret finally came into my mind. I re-read the book and I read The Secret stories on The Secret website. I especially read the ones about lost and found pets. It made me feel much more positive regarding his safety and return. I felt so much gratitude for his beautiful presence in my life. It made me feel damn sure that he was going to be back with us soon! But how? I did not know how but I felt very reassured that the Universe and God would somehow bring him back in my life within a month.
I did not see anything happen as far as his actual return but I did see positive signs in regard to his return. I believed that if I saw 2 birds, then that was a sign that Mitthu was coming back. The answer was always positive when I asked for signs. Meanwhile, time moved on but I had positivity of mind that he was safe, happy, and would return soon.
One beautiful day, all our prayers were answered and my darling Mitthu came back to us! He just showed up and went into his cage by himself! We had placed his cage on the roof for him to see and go to if he returned. That day was a big celebration day for us. We were so happy and had emotions that I just can not express in words.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Universe! I love you so much and I am so grateful to you. Thank you to God, and thank you to God’s angel, dear Rhonda!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
