I grew up in Asia and moved to South Africa where my mother is from when I was 18. The life that met me was quite a difficult one. Lots of crime, poverty, racism, and fear underlined everything we did, said and thought. It was difficult to feel positive.
After being held up in our small home by a group of men at gunpoint, I thought I was going to die. I was fully prepared to die. But I didn’t. And I decided the next day that I wanted to change my life. I didn’t want to keep going through the same cycle. I decided I wanted to immigrate to the UK.
Everyone told me I was crazy and that people like us, people from Africa, don’t do that kind of stuff. It’s not a possibility for us, we have to manage our expectations. Manage our dreams and goals. I didn’t listen to any of them. I worked as a bartender, and in South Africa, you don’t get paid a salary, you live off of the tips you make. It didn’t seem like it could happen but I believed and visualised and kept my vibrations up. I kept myself happy, no matter what happened.
Seven months later I immigrated to the United Kingdom. I couldn’t tell you how it happened, I take no credit. I ended up connecting on Facebook with someone who sells cars in the United Kingdom and he happened to have a place to rent for cheap. I managed to save up money for my visa, and unexpectedly, I got paid a lot more extra money in that last month than I had planned.
I moved and now here I am a year later, living in the United Kingdom, working here and making more of my dreams become a reality! Sometimes I forget how lucky I am. Sometimes I have to remind myself to be grateful for what I’ve been given by the Universe. This was one of my biggest dreams and I see my friends back home trying desperately to find a way to move abroad.
I just want to say, thank you so much to everyone who was involved in creating The Secret. Using this law has changed my whole world, and there are no words to use to describe how infinitely thankful I am.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. My life will never be the same.
