Ridgway, COPracticing Buddhist who believes in God, married with adult children. I was abused by my father as a child, and as an adult by my first husband through ten years of marriage, and am a recovering drug addict with 5 years of sobriety. I have had several illness' and surgeries throughout my life, currently battling lupus. 4 years ago, I learned about The Secret and finally began living.
In 1996 I watched a movie called ‘7 years in Tibet’ because it was starring Brad Pitt. I came out of the movie completely drawn to Buddhism and began my quest of spirituality.
All my life until that point had felt like a waste, and I often found myself questioning God as to why he was punishing me and just exactly what he was keeping me alive for. I soon found the courage through my faith to leave my abusive husband and start a new life. I had been battling alcoholism and drug addiction, and the battle would continue for 8 more years. In and out of abuse relationships and even fighting a terminal illness, I still clung to my spirit and the thoughts of compassion and the goodness in everyone.
In 2005 I read The Secret and decided to believe in manifestation and the law of attraction. I believed that I would find my soul mate and that my life would become something that I always knew God was saving just for me. Within 1 year I met my current husband, and the moment I laid my eyes on him I felt electricity shoot through my body, and he admits that it was love at first sight for him as well. We have been inseparable since that day in September 2006 and married July 14th of 2008.
While dating, my husband took me on vacation, and we vowed to live in our dream spot after getting married there the following year. We did get married in the “Switzerland of America,” and within 2 months we were living here, my husband having the most incredible job with great pay and benefits. I told my husband when we moved here that I knew we would own a home within 1 year, and again we accomplished that very thing just 1 week shy of our 1 year anniversary here. Even before buying our mobile home we signed a contract 5 months ago to buy a 40 acre property with the hopes of building a home. I met a man at our local Laundromat and he told me that he had a mobile home he would GIVE me if I would just take it away. As a matter of fact, I registered the title to our mobile home with the county assessors office just today.
Last night, my husband and I were discussing our plans to build a greenhouse and he mentioned needing a post hole digger. Well, today I found a post hole digger at my local thrift store for 2 dollars.
If you just believe, and say your affirmations of belief every day, it can happen to you too!
