It really works! I feel like I can be, do, or have anything I want right now.

This story is about my job. I had felt out of alignment in my current job as a high school teacher for some time but I never made a switch. This year, I watched The Secret and decided that it was time to change things up. I needed major lifestyle intervention. Around the same time I decided that this was the year I would finally try to go back to teaching elementary school. A job opened up in the next town over for grades 2-4. What a perfect age range! I applied for the job.

Every day I would thank God for my new job. I also started feeling grateful for my current job and my current students. I never worried about getting this new job. I knew it was mine, but I was also so grateful for the job I already had. In addition to this, I used shower crayons to draw the school on my shower wall, along with the school name, the grade level, and my ideal salary. I knew this district would pay 10K higher than my current salary, but I used The Secret and asked for a 14K raise despite the fact that it wasn’t possible. I wrote down 56K under my drawing and circled it. I looked at this daily in the shower.

Well, I made it through three rounds of interviews and finally received a call from the Principal telling me that I was chosen for the job. I danced around my classroom as I had many times in my visualizations when I received this news. And the story gets better. The Principal began telling me about the salary and said that normally I would receive 52K (which I knew), but that teacher salaries were up for negotiation this year and my new pay would be 56K! Exactly what I had written on my shower wall! I had tears in my eyes as I accepted the offer. The Secret is true!
