London 2012

London, UKA sweet girl who loves a happy life.
For years I was so excited about London hosting the 2012 Olympics, even though I was living 2.5 hours away, I was still convinced it was something to look forward to and something I certainly didn’t want to miss. I moved to London in 2008 and got more and more excited as the years approached to July 2012.
Earlier on this year I got a call about a job in France and I knew in my heart I had to take it because it was also another dream of mine to work overseas. I packed up and moved to France to work there for a while. While I was out there I would try and catch the Olympics on TV whenever I could and would visualize being there and feeling the power of the atmosphere.
I came back to London during the Paralympics and desperately tried to get a ticket but couldn’t. I honestly did not want to wonder what would happen if the Olympics came by and left without me watching something in Stratford Olympic Park. I was out shopping the day before the closing ceremony and I had an urge to go home. Once I arrived home I called the ticket helpline for the umpteenth time, to see if there had been any cancellations and a miraculous available ticket would appear on their system. Lo and behold, there was. I was so over the moon and grateful that my dream came true. I actually didn’t even believe it until I arrived at the park and had my ticket placed in my hand. That evening I sat in the stadium with tears in my eyes and the biggest smile on my face.
What a wondrous feeling. Thank you Rhonda!
