Living The Secret Without Knowing It
Submitted by: Hadji B.
Duluth, GAHello, I am a civil engineering major work in an architectural firm. Born in Senegal, I moved to the US in 1996 to pursue studies. One thing led to another and I started a family and have three children now with my beautiful wife. Adversity, obstacles, and challenges aren't unfamiliar words to me. They sum up most of my life, but in a sense, I realize that nothing good comes easy, so I guess I should be thankful of how it all happened. I came to the states with a few hundred bucks and a dream of a great career to help my family back home and make a decent living.
It is really difficult to put into words what I thought about The Secret when I first watched the broadcast on the internet.
First of all, I should say this: I am a very practical person and very skeptical also… it is somewhat difficult to convince me of something unless you really have strong evidence to back it up. But when I saw the broadcast unravel, I realized that some parts of my life match perfectly with the process explained in The Secret: you think of it and you become it!! It is real… I am a living proof that the Secret works!
Ok, I guess I should explain myself: since I was a young teenager in Senegal-West Africa, I wanted to come to the States for a better life, and some of my dreams (night and day) would be picturing myself actually there…. living, working, and going about life activities. I never knew how I could come to the US, since the plane ticket is really expensive and the visa requirements are extremely steep, so it is needless to say that the odds were seemingly unbeatable (like 1:1000).
But to make a long story short, it happened. Almost out of nowhere, my parents surprised me by telling me their plan, and to this day, I don’t know how they did it because it’s not like they were millionaires…(well ok, maybe they were, but here in US currency that would make them thousandaires)
So they took care of my trip to the US, and I think they did it simply to reward my efforts in college for getting my civil engineering degree, and the fact that I was a good kid growing up (always helpful and stayed out of trouble).
Now, years later, by reading The Secret I am discovering how the mysteries of my mind landed me here (without any initiative or effort on my part), and I am excited that I already have many other dreams in my life about goals I want to reach.
Therefore, I will now focus on reaching these goals with the supreme confidence that the first step has already been taken (the dream, the vision), and so now I have to take the action since there’s already a few game plans.
Thank you
