This is a very brief story yet it has an important lesson that I would like to share with you all.

I live in a students’ hostel away from home. The evening before the last, I went to my friend’s room on the second floor to give her back a book. On my way out, I bumped into another friend of mine and chatted for a little while. Then I noticed that she had her ceiling fan switched off for some reason. I could not help but comment on it as I thought that the summer heat was soaring and how could she stand to be in searing heat without the fan. I could literally feel the heat myself and put myself out there. She politely let me know that she had her cooler on and that it was fine. I left her place shortly after that. Well, this might seem like an insignificant, casual event but wait for it.

The next day as I came back from lunch, my ceiling fan stopped working. Just like that! I was wondering how on earth this could happen because just 6 months ago I had a fan installed there. I knew about The Secret from reading The Secret To Teen Power. I have been practicing gratitude every day and had recently manifested many of my thoughts into things. Yes, you read that right. So I ran down my memory lane and found the cause to be my obsessive thought about the fan not working and the energy that I gave to the situation that I hated, heat. Hence, I attracted it myself.

But no worries people, since I had found the root cause, I sort of ‘knew’ that this situation could be reversed. I actually had the fan replaced in less than 24 hours by the hostel electrician who usually cannot be found to be at work at any time. There are students who are waiting for more than 6 months to get their fans repaired!
