Learned My Lesson!

I want to thank Rhonda Bryne and the entire team of The Secret for introducing us to such simple yet profound principles that have the potential to turn our world around. The power that a positive mind has astounds me.
This is the second story that I am submitting to the forum. My first story was published here much to my excitement.
I am feeling a little sheepish as I narrate my story, but my purpose is to share with others so that they don’t make the same mistake that I did. The biggest lesson that I learned was to believe that you will get your desire, even if it’s manifestation is delayed.
I had gone to my doctor for an annual eye examination. Every year, along with the general check up, my doctor also checks my contact lens numbers. After that he writes a prescription if there is a change in my vision. I have an astigmatism in one eye and the lenses for that eye are very expensive, especially because they are bifocals too. My doctor gives me a pair of complimentary lens and then I have to order the rest of the box.
When I went home and tried the lens, it slipped from my finger and couldn’t be found. I was devastated and looked for it all over the bathroom, but to no avail. It was the lens for the right eye in which I have the astigmatism.
Finally I went back to the doctor and requested if he could give me one extra lens for the right eye. He said that it was not possible since he already had given me a complimentary pair. He suggested that I order it in Walmart and they would give me the most competitive price. When I went there they said that one box with 3 lenses for the right eye would cost me $168. I had just paid my doctor $100 for the eye exam and to shell out another $168 was difficult for me. So, I went back to the doctor and pleaded with him to at least try and order for me. Since I’ve been his regular patient and have never done this before, he ordered a second pair for me.
I had a major conference coming up on April 30th. I needed my lenses by that date. I told the universe that I would get my lenses by April 29th in time for the conference. The day the doctor ordered my lens was April 9th. I kept practicing gratitude and truly believed I would get the lens. Every week I called the office and was told that they hadn’t heard from the lab and I should wait for at least two weeks.
All this time I was grateful that my doctor changed his mind and agreed to order an extra pair free of cost for me. When days went by and I was nearing April 30th my faith wavered and I wondered if I would really get it. On April 27th I again called the office and they said that the order was placed, but they may not get it in for another 2-3 weeks! She also said that she’s not sure if I will get them at all!
I lost faith and on April 28th in the morning I went to Walmart and paid $168 upfront and placed an order for my lens.
What happened next will astound you!
Exactly on the day i had intended to receive my lens, April 29th, my doctor called and said my lenses were in, and I could pick it up anytime I wanted!!
I did not have enough faith to believe that my desire would be answered! The universe delivered on schedule, it was me who wasn’t in the receiving mode. To cut a long story short, I went to the conference wearing my free lenses, but my wallet was lighter by $168.
