About a year ago I was making plans to study abroad in Italy (also around the same time I started reading books about the Law of Attraction). At my internship I found a pretty image of some coastal town in Italy and put it as my desktop background. It just looked like what I imagined to be the epitome of Italy: bright, vibrantly colored houses built into cliffs on the water. It also happened to be the only decent image I could find of Italy on google that was large enough to fill up the screen.

Well, I saw that image every day since I had put it up until I left the city in July to head over to Italy. I had a wonderful time living in Florence and traveled to places I hadn’t heard of rather than the more frequented routes… and I was definitely not thinking about some silly picture I put on the computer back home.

I decided to go back to the same internship when I got back in January. As soon as I signed onto my computer I immediately recognized that town as Vernazza in the Cinque Terre. The day that I traveled there happened to be one of the best days I had the entire time I was in Europe. I had taken a random day trip there when my boyfriend was visiting from Prague (he was also studying abroad).

It was THE most beautiful place that I saw in all of Italy. Since I’m a photography major, I took a million pictures that day. I happened to have a much better picture taken from the same exact location that I had sent prints of to my family while I was still abroad.

It just floored me that I had manifested a wonderful trip to that town when all I had done was simply find a pretty picture to get me excited about Italy in general.
