Landing that Dream Job… No really!

To fully understand my story, I have to just briefly take you back to when I was a young boy around the age of 14. Even at such a young age, when I would see someone in an unfavorable condition, I would tell the person or persons with me something like “while I feel sad for them and love them, they chose to be there”. Boy, I’ll tell you that statement would bring on heated conversations.
Fast forward 20 years, and I made that statement to my wife, when we passed a homeless person on the streets of Chicago. I handed the man a few dollars and said to my wife quietly “sadly enough he chose to be there” again she initially disagreed That is until about 8 months ago.
I never knew why I thought those thoughts, I just knew deep inside I was right. I knew nothing about the Law of Attraction, or “The Secret” for that matter, they were just beliefs I had that were not taught to me, at least not that I can remember.
I had always had an infatuation with Quantum physics, astrology and other sciences and during a fun discussion with my best friend on those subjects he asked me if I had ever watched The Secret. Noticing the seriousness on his face I agreed to purchase the video which I did. I had my entire family, including my kids sit down and watch the DVD together. The movie hit home so strongly, I immediately went out and purchased The Secret Book, CD and The Power on CD, and my wife and I studied them together.
In the past 8 months, my life has changed dramatically. The current job I was at was horrible. The culture of the company, and how they treated employees was one of the worst environments I had ever been in. I had just relocated my family to the New England area for this job, and now here I was stuck in this horrible position, in an economy where jobs are tight. I knew I had to act fast
By now, having engulfed myself in the teachings and practices of The Secret I thought of TWO companies I would love to work for, found them on the internet, and submitted my resume to them. Neither of those two companies had posted job openings, I just submitted my resume anyway.
After that I put the LOA into action. I told myself, believed and began to feel that my new position was just presented to me. Each morning I would go through my “grateful” list before I started my day. I created a picture of a desk name plate with the company logo on it, cut it out and placed it on my vision board. Each day I would drive into work (at the old company) I was pretending that this was the day I was going to put in my resignation. I imagined that I had received an offer and I had to go into work and resign. This put me in such a great mood that working in that environment actually became easy to deal with.
Well, to make a long story short, over the period of 6 weeks, I had 4 phone interviews with one of the chosen companies; the last call was to offer me the position! But wait here’s the best part. Not only was this my dream job, not only was this position approaching 6 figures, they had offered me the position and never even met me in person. They were all phone interviews. On the phone I even said, “I accept the offer, but don’t you want to meet me?” Of course I went in the next day, got the official offer letter and have been with this company now for three months. I LOVE THE JOB.
If you have seen the movie, then my advice is to watch it once a week. Purchase the book, CD’s and anything else you can and MASTER its contents. This is not a joke, and it will change your life! I have so many other stories, but this one really hits home.
