Keep the Change

Philadelphia, PAI am 31 years old, single, and live alone in Philadelphia where I was raised. I am the middle child of my family and consider myself very lucky for having a close and huge extended family, as well an abundance of friends. I am a special education teacher and discovered the Secret in December 2006 after watching Ellen and deciding that was exactly what I needed in my life. At the time I had just registered for a triathlon in April 2007, which I did complete, and I didn't know how to swim. It has become more and more a part of my life, and one of the things I like the most is sharing the Secret with others.
I discovered the Secret in December of 2006, and since then I have made positive thinking a part of my life. I use the Secret for nearly everything, from a song on the radio to improving relationships. I have had many “AH-HA!” moments, but I slowly ask for larger and larger things in my life. I really want to make it a constant practice and continue to receive. I have recently started to ask for more specific things.
This past April I used my passport for the first time and went on a trip to Italy with one of my good friends, all of which I drew to myself by using the Secret. When I arrived home the credit card bill was there as I expected, because my friend and I shared the responsibility of splitting expenses on the trip. We planned to make a spreadsheet to determine costs.
Also when I arrived home I had a new student teacher in my class who I would be supervising. Normally the university that she attends sends me a $100 check for services after the semester is completed. Unfortunately this particular student has run into a few problems and I have been doing more work than expected. I commented the other day that I should get paid more for this.
Yesterday my Italy companion emailed me the spreadsheet of costs to finalize. After determining costs I realized that she had charged $1121.06 and I charged $835.47. I would have to pay her a difference of $285.59. Immediately after calculating the number I said aloud. I need $285.00.
Today when I arrived home from work there was a check in the mail from the university my student teacher attends. The check was for exactly $285.00! There is no written explanation as to why I am receiving the check before the semester is over or why it is for that amount, but I don’t need an explanation anyway. I received it because I asked for it!
